Summertime!

This online competition is open to any artist anywhere in the world. All entries must be submitted through the ShowSubmit.com web portal.

The competition is for pastel paintings only. 80% of the exposed surface must be dry pastel; oil pastels and mixed media are not eligible. There is no artwork size limitation. Original artwork only is accepted; copies from other artists' work or published work are not eligible. Artwork created on top of a photo or altered photos with pastels added are not eligible. If a photo reference is used, the photo must be taken by the artist. Work done in a workshop or under guidance from an instructor is not eligible. All subjects and styles are eligible except nudes. Works that have been exhibited in any previous PSAK shows but did not win awards are eligible for entry. Work may be for sale or listed as NFS.

Prizes include: Best of Show — $500; First Place — $300; Second Place — $200; Third Place — $100; and Honorable Mentions. Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to include only the artwork itself, with no mat, frame, or background visible. Images should be oriented correctly and use the sRGB color profile. Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline of July 31, 2023. After submission and payment, you may log back in to review, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images until the deadline.
