About This Call
Webster's Woods Sculpture Park is seeking proposals for outdoor-friendly functional artwork to be permanently installed in the park. Selected sculptures will be unveiled at the Summertide Solstice Festival on June 13, 2026, with installation occurring May 25-June 7, 2026.
The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center invites artists to create sculptures inspired by the functionality found in nature. With the park's newly completed ADA-accessible trail and improvements, there are opportunities to create works that enhance visitors' experiences while harmonizing with natural surroundings. Examples include artistic benches for birdwatching, tables evoking tree snags for picnics, or creative gathering spaces for community and nature interaction.
Artwork must be functional (bench, table, play structure, etc.), original work suitable for all ages, able to withstand adverse weather, soundly constructed and firmly anchored for public safety, and constructed from materials that will not degrade or harm plant or animal life. Suggested materials include metal, rock, and treated wood. Eligibility is open to all U.S. artists and artist teams; youth and emerging artists are welcome. Selected artists receive a stipend of $500-$5,000. There is no application fee. Final notifications will be sent April 1, 2026.
