Summer Festival of the Arts 2025, Youngstown State University

The Summer Festival of the Arts is designed to promote the diversity of art in the Mahoning Valley. The event's centerpiece is a juried arts festival that equally welcomes regional and national fine art and fine craft artists and showcases a range of performing artists. Participation by area ethnic, arts, and cultural institutions offers unique opportunities for positive interaction between patrons and the community.

Held outdoors on the park-like, urban campus of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, the festival runs Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The event features 24-hour security from Friday at 10 a.m. to Sunday at 9 p.m., close and convenient artist parking, overnight locked storage area, artist break area, cash awards in 7 categories, and a strong volunteer system. Artists must provide their own 10' x 10' clean white tent and display equipment, with booth fees of $125 for single space or $225 for double space.

All work must be original and for sale, designed and executed by the accepted artist. Artists may only show work in categories approved by the jury and must remain with their work for the entire two days of the festival. Up to 250 2-dimensional limited reproductions are allowed with proper labeling. The jury process involves 3 jurors scoring applications on a 1-5 scale, with approximately 100 artists selected from 120 applications annually. Notification date is June 6, 2025, with the event starting the same day.
