About This Call
Studios Midwest Artist Residency is a residency program open to national applicants. The application fee is $25 USD (non-refundable), paid via credit card. Applicants must submit 5-10 images and up to 2 videos of their work.
Selected artists receive a $500 stipend to help with materials, supplies, and living expenses during the residency. Artists are expected to participate in a public presentation about their work, an open studio, and an artists' reception. Selected artists must commit to the entire residency to receive the stipend and cannot defer or reschedule if unable to attend. The Galesburg Civic Art Center is not responsible for organizing artists' travel to and while in Galesburg, Illinois.
Applications are reviewed by a panel of arts professionals including artists, curators, academics, and/or critics. International applicants are responsible for obtaining and complying with visa requirements and must provide documentation upon acceptance. A good command of English is required as a translator will not be provided. Schedule of events: July 1 - Artists Arrive; July 9, 6-8pm - Presentations and Open Studio; July 24, 5-7pm - Artists' Reception; July 24-25 - Exhibition.
