About This Call
The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts presents Studio West Art Tour, an early autumn self-guided tour through art studios and creative spaces in Minneapolis' western metropolitan communities. Built on the tradition of the Lake Minnetonka Studio Tour, Studio West expands geographic reach to offer both Host and Guest Artists a unique opportunity to connect with new audiences and collectors. This is a juried opportunity; Guest and Host Artists will be selected by the Studio West Art Tour jury panel. Guest Artists needing placement will be assigned a Host Site by the panel.
Artists must submit at least 5 images of artworks representative of what they would offer for sale. Host Site applicants must additionally submit at least 3 images of their space, including one exterior photo. The opportunity is open to artists living in the U.S. working in all mediums including painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, wood carving/turning, photography, glass, jewelry, drawing, and watercolor. Artists must be physically present on site during event hours. The emphasis is on original work; limited editions of 1000 or less are acceptable. All work must be for sale.
Host Artists are required to be current members of the Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts and must be located within St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Deephaven, Tonka Bay, Excelsior, or Shorewood. Artists from adjacent communities outside these cities may apply to be considered as Host Sites. Guest Artists are not required to be members. Entry fee is $20 (non-refundable jury fee). Selected participants will be charged a $200 participation fee covering administration, marketing, and tour support. HCA provides digital and physical marketing materials and wayfinding signs. Jury notification is by April 18, 2025. Load-in is September 12, with the event running September 13 (10am-5pm) and September 14 (11am-5pm).
