About This Call

The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts presents Studio West Art Tour, an early autumn self-guided tour through the art studios and creative spaces of Minneapolis' western metropolitan communities. Built on the tradition of the long-running Lake Minnetonka Studio Tour, Studio West expands the geographic reach. For both Host and Guest Artists, it is a unique opportunity to connect with new audiences and collectors. Tour-goers will explore new territories of art-making, discovering both fresh talent and the latest work by established favorites.

This is a juried opportunity. Guest and Host Artists will be selected by the Studio West Art Tour jury panel. Guest Artists needing placement will be assigned a Host Site by the panel. All artists must submit at least 5 images of artworks representative of what they would offer for sale, with a maximum of 15 images. Host Site applicants must also submit at least 3 images of their space, including one exterior photo. The $20 non-refundable jury fee is due by March 29, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time. Selected Guest and Host Artists will be charged a $200 participation fee to cover administration, marketing, and tour support costs. Jury results will be notified by April 19, 2024 at 9 p.m. Mountain Time.

The event takes place September 14-15, 2024 (10 a.m.-5 p.m. on September 14 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on September 15), with load-in on September 13. Open to U.S. artists working in all mediums. Artists must be physically present on site during event hours. The emphasis is on original work; limited editions of 1000 or less are acceptable. All work must be for sale. Host Artists must be current members of Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts and located within St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Deephaven, Tonka Bay, Excelsior, or Shorewood, Minnesota. Guest Artists are not required to be members.
