About This Call

Studio Texas is accepting entries for its annual online juried competition open to all artists, national and international, 18 years of age or older. Artists may submit up to 6 entries in the following categories: Painting (Watercolor, Oil, Pastel, Gouache, Acrylics, Egg Tempera, Encaustic, Mixed Media, Batik), Drawing (Graphite, Colored Pencil, Charcoal, Scratchboard, Pen and Ink), Collage, Printmaking (Intaglio, Serigraph, Reduction Block Printing), Fiber Art, and Sculpture and 3D (cast metal, fabricated metal, stone, glass, wood, and fired permanent mediums such as terra cotta, stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware). Pieces may be representational or abstract works in 2D or 3D. Non-acceptable mediums include craft, jewelry, video, digital prints, giclee, or any work containing computer-generated elements. Only one artwork by any artist will be accepted into the exhibition.

Entry fees are $40 for the first entry and $9 for each additional entry for Studio Texas Members, and $45 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry for Non-Members. Applications must be submitted from Tuesday, April 15, 2025, to midnight, Monday, June 23, 2025. Finalists will be announced by Friday, July 18, 2025. Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), First Place ($750), Second Place ($500), Third Place ($250), and 3 Honorable Mentions. A 40% donation from sales will be made to Studio Texas.

All artwork must be original and created by the artist without supervision or as part of a class or workshop. 2D work must have been completed within the last 2 years; there is no required timeframe for 3D artwork. Work may not have been accepted into any previous Studio Texas exhibit. If photo reference is used, it must be from the artist's own photos. Composition may not be taken from published work or other artists' work. Artists retain copyright to their images. Submit high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to show only the artwork itself without matting, frames, or background.
