STRIPPED DOWN

Vestige Concept Gallery is seeking works of art that exhibit the nude form from any medium, including themes involving erotica and sexuality. This inclusionary show is open to all gender depictions and encourages works exploring non-traditional norms and non-binary identities. The call also extends to depictions of "stripped" places such as bare rooms or minimal/situational spaces where the nude form may reside. Artists must be 18+.

Sexuality themes may include touch, caress, holding, self touch, intertwining/interplay, kissing, arousal, and heightened states of passion, but should not depict full penetration, "Rated X" situations, or any activities deemed illegal. The gallery accepts works from emerging, mid-career, and professional artists. Work should ideally have been created in the last three years and must be original artwork ready to display. The specific work must not have been previously displayed in a Vestige Concept Gallery exhibit. All work must be for sale. No Giclees or reproductions of original works are accepted unless the work itself is a Giclee or digital.

Applicants may submit up to nine entries. Two entries are included in the $25 application fee; additional entries are $5 each. Accepted artists must provide confirmation, artist photo, bio, and web/social links for promotion. Vestige Concept Gallery retains a 30% commission on sales. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the gallery with prepaid return labels (FedEx or UPS only). 2D work must not exceed 30 lbs including frame. Wall pieces must be securely wired and framed. 3D work, audio, and video submissions require gallery discussion and will be placed on a waitlist. The in-person opening reception is Saturday, February 18, 2022 at 6 PM. The exhibition runs February 19 - March 26, 2022.
