String Theory

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod invites fiber artists worldwide to submit work for "String Theory," an exhibition exploring the wide range of possibilities within fiber art, including weaving, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and felting. The exhibition runs from February 6 to March 3, 2024. All styles and aesthetics are considered. Work must have been produced within the last five years and be appropriate for all viewers. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible.

Submit 1-20 JPEG images (1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, maximum 5 MB file size). Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Submission deadline is January 26, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of acceptance will be sent by January 28, 2024. The juror will award a Juror's Choice prize of $250 cash.

Local drop-off of work is Monday, February 5, 2024. Work being shipped must arrive by Saturday, February 3, 2024. The opening event is Friday, February 9, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. Unsold work can be picked up Monday, March 4, 2024, between 8 a.m.-noon, or shipped the week of March 4, 2024. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide pre-paid return labels. Framed work must be fitted firmly in frame with wire for hanging. Gallery wrapped canvases are permitted. The Center charges a 30% commission on sales for members and 40% for non-members. The Center's insurance does not cover damage during shipping; artists should insure their work.
