Stratas of New Mexico Art 2026

Strata Gallery invites submissions for Stratas of New Mexico Art 2026, an exhibition honoring the expansive creative vision of artists living and working in New Mexico. This exhibition seeks to illuminate the layered and multifaceted nature of the state's artistic community, offering a platform for works that embody its vitality and unique character. Through this open call, Strata Gallery aims to bring together a dynamic range of artistic practices, from the intimate to the monumental, the traditional to the experimental. By highlighting both emerging and established voices, the exhibition celebrates the boundless expressions of creativity that define New Mexico's cultural identity.

All media is welcome, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textiles, mixed media, and more. Submissions must include 3-6 artwork JPGs, an artist statement and bio in third person (100-125 words, 1000 character limit), and an optional CV in PDF format. The entry fee is $35 for the first three submissions, with an additional $10 per submission for up to three more submissions (maximum 6 total). Artwork must be hang/display ready with proper hardware, weigh no more than 40 lbs, and not exceed 60" x 60". All artwork must be dropped off and picked up in person on designated dates; no shipped artwork is accepted. Submitted work must remain available for the duration of the exhibition.

Stratas of New Mexico Art 2026 is a juried exhibition held at Strata Gallery, 125 Lincoln Ave, Suite 111, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501. The exhibition runs April 7-24, 2026, with a reception on April 10 from 5-7pm. The submission deadline is February 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified on February 16, 2026. Artwork must be hand-delivered on April 4, 2026 between 11am-1pm and picked up on April 25, 2026 between 11am-1pm. Eligibility requires New Mexico residency. Selection criteria include artist residency status, application completeness, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, and demonstrated excellence of technique. Each artist handles the sale and shipping of sold artwork; Strata Gallery collects buyer information and takes a 20% commission on sales.
