About This Call
Story - Real or Not So Much! is a juried exhibition sponsored by the Negri Foundation and hosted by Lisa Bebi @ AMP. The exhibition seeks raw, psychological, primal work in any medium, including realism, abstraction, or a hybrid of both. Work may be obvious or unclear, fanciful or serious, conceptual or an interpretation of personal events.
Open to USA artists 18 years and older. Submissions may include 2-d and 3-d works in all mediums (digital, mixed media, fiber, fine art photography, and sculpture accepted; installation work not accepted). Entries must not exceed 72 inches vertical or 60 inches horizontal and should weigh no more than 40 lbs. All work must be hang ready with D-rings and wire. Paintings must have clean edges, either painted or framed. Framed paintings requiring glass must use plexiglass instead. Submit 3-8 images. Entry fee: $40 for the first three entries and $10 for each additional piece. Deadline for submission: January 13, 2023. Acceptance notification the week of January 19, 2023.
The opening reception and awards presentation is February 11, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exhibition runs from February 11 to March 18, 2023 at Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery, 262 East Grand Ave, Escondido, CA 92025. Juror: Holly Roberts, an American visual artist based in New Mexico. Awards: Best in Show $400, 1st Prize $300, 2nd Prize $200, 3rd Prize $150, and 3 Honorable Mentions. The gallery will handle sales and take a 20% commission. Work may be entered NFS at the artist's discretion. Mailed work must be received between January 21 and February 3, 2023 and must be insured and properly packaged with return postage paid. Drop-off date is February 7, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
