StoriesToArt.com - Calling All Artists, Artisans, Poets and Songwriters 2018

StoriesToArt is an online gallery that empowers art lovers to select exclusive pieces of art or commission art, music, or poetry inspired by their own or a loved one's stories and memories. Artists on the site keep 60% of their sales, and 5% of StoriesToArt's profits go to arts education through StoriesToArt Gives Back.

This competition invites artists from every field and medium to submit original work inspired by provided stories. Participants must submit at least 3 and up to 6 entries total. Each entry must include an accompanying story (no more than 150 words), and at least one entry must be inspired by one of the stories provided in the call. Work can include paintings, sculpture, illustration, comics, animation, industrial designs, jewelry, textiles, mixed media, photography, poetry, and songs, but all media are welcome. At least 3 pieces entered must be available for sale on StoriesToArt if you are invited to exhibit and accept the invitation. All work must be dated and signed. Entry fee is $15. A panel of professional artists, poets, and songwriters will choose up to 400 artists to invite to exhibit on StoriesToArt.com on a rolling basis between February 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019.

Visual artists must submit images at least 1920 pixels on the longest side with subject matter viewable for all ages. Photography must be original or a limited edition of 100 or less. 3D artists should provide front, back, and detail shots. Songwriters are limited to 3.5-minute duration and must ensure professional sound quality. Poets are limited to two pages. Work will be judged on technical skill, creativity, voice, design fundamentals, and story conversion. Submissions are uploaded through the website; physical submission is not required.
