Still Life: Past, Present, Future

uBe Art is exploring Still Life: Past, Present, Future. The world of Still Life art has expanded to include far more than the traditional table setting. Contemporary culture is ripe with options. Artists are invited to submit work exploring everything from the bizarre to the beautiful—from fried eggs tacked to walls to table settings. All mediums are welcome.

Accepted mediums include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, photography, and digital art. All artwork must be ready to hang; loose prints must be in plastic sleeves. Artwork must not exceed 50" on any side. The entry fee is $25, and artists may submit 1-3 images. uBe Art's jury panel will choose individual pieces based on technical application, originality, and concept. The panel consists of professional working artists, gallery curators, advertising agents, and editors.

Selected artwork will be on display in a seven-week exhibition at uBe Art in the B-Side Hood of Berkeley, California, located 12 miles east of San Francisco. The gallery features 25 ft ceilings and attracts artists, visitors, and collectors from around the Bay Area. The exhibition opens September 9, 2016, with an opening reception from 6pm-9pm, and closes October 29, 2016. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artworks. International artists are responsible for all international fees. Artists may deliver and pick up work in person if applicable. All accepted artwork must be listed for sale, and uBe Art will retain 40% of all sales. Selected artists will be notified by email on August 12, 2016. All artwork must be received by September 2, 2016.
