About This Call
In honor of the State of Wyoming's 125th anniversary of statehood, a 39 mm (approximately 1.5") precious metal commemorative coin in either gold or silver will be offered for sale. Profits from the sale will support programming through the Wyoming Arts Council. The coin's imagery should celebrate the 125th Anniversary and must include the dates 1890—2015. It may be a single image or a montage.
Up to three additional alloy 1.5" coins will also be created as giveaways for the Legislative, Judicial and Executive branches. These should not include dates. Images for the coins should be iconic images of Wyoming, symbols adopted by the State Legislature, or recognize an important historical person or event. It may be a single image or a montage. The reverse side of all coins will be the Great Seal of the State of Wyoming.
Coins will be minted using a press and die process. For the best results, images must be finely rendered, as for an engraving. This call requires highly detailed final drawing(s) for each coin proposal submitted. Artists may submit one or more proposals for each coin and may apply more than once. An honorarium will be awarded for each design accepted. Submit 1-4 images per proposal.
