State of the Arts 2022

State of the Arts 2022 is the R.G. Endres Gallery's 16th annual juried competition for 2D and 3D artworks, excluding photography. The exhibition runs during September and October, with the show opening September 5th for People's Choice Voting.

Eligibility is open to artists 18 years of age or older within approximately a 2-hour drive of the gallery. Artwork must be original, not more than 2 years old, not created in a class or under supervision of another artist, and not copied from published or others' photos without written permission. 2D and 3D artwork of any media except photography is acceptable. All 2D artwork selected for display must be D-ringed, wired, and ready for hanging (no clip frames, saw tooth hangers, or string hangers). 2D framed or unframed work should not exceed 25 square feet total. 3D work cannot exceed 48 inches in any one dimension. Artists must be able to attend the artist reception and awards ceremony if selected.

Three entries are allowed per artist with an entry fee of $35 for 1 to 3 entries (non-refundable). No more than one piece per artist will be selected for the show. All work must be for sale, and prices listed on the entry form are binding and cannot be changed after submission. The gallery's sales commission is 40%. Awards include: $1,000 for Best in Show, $750 Merit Awards (two), $500 People's Choice Award, and $100 Honorable Mention Awards (five). The juror is Shannon Trevethan, director of the Deines Cultural Center in Russell, KS. Finalists will be announced August 7, 2022, with the awards gala on September 9, 2022.
