State of the Arts 2019

State of the Arts 2019 is the R.G. Endres Gallery's 13th annual juried competition held in October. The exhibition runs throughout October with a gala reception on October 11th, 2019. The juror is Erin Woodworth, curator at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center.

Eligibility: Open to artists 18 years of age or older. 2D and 3D artwork of any media except photography is acceptable. Artwork must be original, not more than 2 years old, not created in a class or under supervision of another artist, and not copied from published or others' photos without written permission. Copyright infringement will result in disqualification. 2D artwork must be wired and ready for hanging (no clip frames, saw tooth hangers, or string hangers); framed or unframed size should not exceed 25 square feet. 3D work cannot exceed 48 inches in any dimension. All work must be for sale, and prices listed on the entry form are binding and cannot be changed after submission.

Entry Details: Three entries allowed per artist with a $35 entry fee for 1-3 entries (non-refundable). Only one piece per artist will be selected for the show. Work delivery is Saturday, September 28th, 2019 from noon to 3 PM only. Shipped pieces require a $10 processing fee (waived if work sells) and must include a prepaid return label. Artists who fail to deliver accepted work forfeit their right to exhibit and will not be considered for the following 2 years. Artwork pickup is Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from 9 AM to noon. Unclaimed artwork 30 days after exhibition closing becomes property of the City of Prairie Village. Gallery sales commission is 40%. Artists are expected to attend the awards gala on October 11th, 2019.

Awards: $1,000 Best in Show, $750 Merit Awards (two), $500 People's Choice Award, and $100 Honorable Mention Awards (five).
