State of the Arts 2018

State of the Arts 2018 is the R.G. Endres Gallery's 12th annual juried competition held in October. The exhibition runs throughout October with a gala reception on October 12th, 2018. The juror is Marissa Starke, Assistant Director for the Kansas City Artists Coalition.

Eligibility: Open to artists 18 years of age or older. 2D and 3D artwork of any media is acceptable except photography. Artwork must be original, not more than 2 years old, not created in a class or under supervision of another artist, and not copied from published photos or photos taken by others without written permission. All 2D artwork must be wired and ready for hanging with no clip frames, saw tooth hangers, or string hangers permitted. 2D framed or unframed work should not exceed 25 square feet total. 3D work cannot exceed 48 inches in any one dimension. All work must be for sale.

Entry Details: Three entries allowed per artist with a $40 entry fee for 1 to 3 entries (non-refundable). No more than one piece per artist will be selected for final adjudication. Work must be delivered Monday, October 1st, 2018 between noon and 5 PM. Late pieces will not be considered. The gallery sales commission is 40%. Prices listed on the entry form are binding and cannot be changed after submission. Artwork must be picked up Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 between noon and 5 PM; unclaimed work after 30 days becomes property of the City of Prairie Village. Artists who fail to deliver accepted work forfeit their right to exhibit and will not be considered for State of the Arts in the following 2 years.

Awards: $1,000 Best in Show, $750 Merit Awards (two), $500 People's Choice Award, and $100 Honorable Mention Awards (five).
