State of the Art: Art of the State

Prairie Arts Council presents State of the Art: Art of the State, an exhibition for current or former residents of Indiana aged 18 and over. Artists may submit up to 2 original works of art in any medium (excluding video), created after January 1, 2016. Entry fee is $25 for Prairie Arts Council members and $35 for non-members.

Work samples must be submitted online through CaFE between June 1 and August 22, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Submit 2-6 images in JPEG format only, with minimum dimensions of 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and maximum file size of 5 MB. Each image must be titled as "Submission #_Your Initials_Title." Notification of acceptance will be posted to your CaFE account by September 3, 2018.

Accepted works must be shipped to arrive by September 28, 2018, or hand-delivered September 28-29, 2018. The exhibition runs October 4 through November 4, 2018, at the Lilian Fendig Gallery, Carnegie Center, Rensselaer, Indiana. The opening reception and awards presentation will be held Friday, October 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM CST, with awards presented at 6:30 PM. A total of $2,000 will be awarded: $1,000 Best of Show, $500 First Place, $250 Second Place, $150 Third Place, and $50 Juror's Awards (two). Jurors are Doug Calisch and Louie Laskowski. Artists are responsible for all shipping, packaging, and insurance costs during transit. Prairie Arts Council will provide insurance coverage for accepted works from delivery through exhibition close. Optional sales are subject to a 25% commission for member artists and 35% for non-members.
