State of the Art 2025

Studio Montclair seeks entries for State of the Art 2025, the 28th Annual Members' Show, an exhibition to celebrate the talent and diversity of Studio Montclair's artist members. This exhibition is open to all SMI members in good standing. All SMI members are guaranteed one piece in this exhibit. The exhibition runs June 27 – July 25, 2025, at Studio Montclair's Leach Gallery, 641 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ. The opening reception is Friday, June 27, 2025 from 6-8pm.

Artists must submit a minimum of 2 works and a maximum of 3 works. Work must have been completed within the past 5 years and cannot have been previously shown in any SMI exhibition. All media are accepted including videos and installations. Three views of 3D work will be accepted. JPEG images should be at least 300 dpi and minimum 1600 pixels on the longest side. No giclée reproductions of original art are accepted. There is no entry fee. Jurors are the Studio Montclair Exhibition Committee. Notification of acceptance will be by early week of June 8, 2025.

Artwork delivery by hand is June 20 (3-6pm) to June 21 (10am-1pm), or by shipping to arrive by June 19. Pickup of unsold artwork is July 26 (10am-2pm). Exhibiting artists residing within a 25 mile radius of the Gallery are required to gallery sit for a minimum of two hours during the run of the show, or may pay a $40 fee to cover the cost of hiring a sitter. A 30% donation will be retained by SMI on all sales. Studio Montclair does not provide insurance for artwork in transit or on display and reserves the right to photograph and use accepted work for documentation, website, publicity, social media, or catalog purposes.
