State of New Jersey EDA Taxation Building Glass Art Wall

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) in consultation with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts is issuing a Request for Expression of Interest to artists to design, construct, and install artwork within the Department of Taxation Building in Trenton, New Jersey. This is one of three separate artwork projects funded through the Public Buildings Arts Inclusion Act. The Art Glass Wall project has a maximum budget of $75,000 and involves a full-height digital ceramic printed art glass wall integrated into an aluminum mullion system.

Artists must be based in New Jersey, Delaware, New York, or Pennsylvania, as they will need to attend frequent project meetings and site visits. Submissions should include a letter summarizing interest and experience in public art creation, identifying which artwork opportunity the artist is interested in, a list of at least 3 references for similar installations, resume, and 4-6 photographs/images of public art installations. The Art Selection Committee will evaluate submissions based on artistic excellence, appropriateness of materials, suitability for a government building, and experience undertaking the project. Shortlisted artists (up to 3 per project) will proceed to the Proposal Phase and receive a Request for Proposal. Shortlisted artists will be required to make in-person presentations to the Art Selection Committee in Trenton and will receive a stipend of up to $1,000 to cover preparation and travel costs.
