About This Call
The Utah Arts & Museums Public Art Program requests artists for the Unified State Lab Facility, Phase II in Taylorsville, Utah. This phase of new facilities will provide accommodations for the Medical Examiner (DOH), the Agriculture laboratories, and the State Crime Laboratory.
The new facility features modern safety and engineering including biological safety cabinets, externally exhausted fume hoods, negative air pressure lab spaces, interior firing range, bullet recovery tanks, secure vehicle examination bays, open campus processing areas, expanded autopsy body cooler facilities, special procedure autopsy suites, tissue recovery suites, and bio-safety facilities. The building will serve the Department of Agriculture and Food, Department of Health Office of the Medical Examiner, and Department of Public Safety Crime Lab, with each programmatic area having unique space requirements and separation to ensure security of workflow and staff.
The Utah State Unified Laboratory Module 2 is located at 4501 South 2700 West in Salt Lake City. The facility connects three floors and is approximately 300 feet long. The project allows three major Departments to more efficiently serve their missions by consolidating resources, bringing staff together to enhance collaborative opportunities, and providing a state-of-the-art, energy efficient and durable facility to house the necessary modern laboratory environment. Artists must submit 1-6 images. Eligibility is national.
