About This Call
Startup Art Fair SF is a premier hotel art fair for professional, independent artists held April 17-19, 2026 at Hotel Del Sol, a 1950s motor lodge in the Marina District. The fair runs concurrently with the San Francisco Art Fair at Fort Mason. Selected artists will each take over a hotel room for three days to present a solo show. Unlike most contemporary artist fairs, artists keep 100% of their sales.
Rooms range from 175 square feet with 25 linear feet of wall space ($2,200) to 425 square feet with 60 linear feet of wall space ($4,800). Exhibitor fees include four nights at the hotel, complimentary continental breakfast each morning, complimentary overnight parking, complimentary fair passes for guests, 24/7 security, a personal artist page on the Startup website, PR and marketing support, curatorial and professional development support, and public liability insurance. Artists also receive automatic access to the exclusive online sales partner Singulart with 50% off their services.
Artwork will be reviewed by a Selection Committee including Grace Kook-Anderson (Curator of Northwest Art at the Portland Art Museum), Demetri Broxton (Artist and Executive Director of Root Division, San Francisco), and Jennifer McCabe (Director and Chief Curator of SFO Museum, San Francisco). The application deadline is rolling, and early applicants receive the best room selections. International artists are eligible.
