About This Call
Startup Art Fair is a premier hotel art fair for professional, independent artists held February 27 - March 1, 2026 at the Kinney Hotel in Los Angeles. The fair provides a supportive platform for artists to grow their careers and present and sell work on their own terms. Participating artists will have the opportunity to expose new work to collectors, curators, gallery owners, art consultants, and writers. The fair takes place concurrently with Frieze LA, Post Fair, and Felix Art Fairs nearby, with easy access to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and Marina Del Rey.
Selected artists each take over a hotel room for three days to present a solo show. Unlike most contemporary artist fairs, artists keep 100% of their sales. Rooms range from 270 square feet with 30 linear feet of wall space ($2,900) to 420 square feet with 65 linear feet of wall space ($4,900). The exhibitor fee includes four nights at the hotel, complimentary fair passes for guests, 24/7 security, a personal artist page on the Startup website, discounted overnight parking, PR and marketing support, curatorial and professional development support, and public liability insurance. Artists also receive automatic access to Singulart, the exclusive online sales partner, with 50% off all of their services.
Applications are reviewed by a Selection Committee of art world professionals including Bridgette Mayer (Owner/Director, Bridgette Mayer Gallery, Philadelphia), Liz Garvey (Co-Founder/Director, Garvey|Simon, NYC), and Max Presneill (Director/Chief Curator, Torrance Art Museum, CA). The application deadline is December 15, 2025. Entry fee is $30.00. International artists are eligible.
