About This Call
Highpoint Center for Printmaking announces Stand Out Prints, an international juried print exhibition. The exhibition will fill Highpoint's 1,000+ square feet of gallery space with select impressions of contemporary printmaking. The exhibition runs from September 5th through October 4th, 2014, with an opening reception on Friday, September 5th from 6:30-9pm.
Artists must be 18 years of age or older, and work must have been completed after January 1st, 2012. While non-traditional or digital output is accepted as a print element, submissions must utilize traditional print media (Lithography, Relief, Intaglio, Silkscreen, Monotype). Three dimensional work may be submitted. Each artist may submit 1-3 images for consideration. The entry fee is $40 (non-refundable handling fee; $30 for current students). Submissions are accepted from April 1st until June 2nd, 2014.
Juror: Susan Tallman, an art historian and writer specializing in prints, multiples, and questions of authenticity and reproduction. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Art in Print and teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prizes include $2,000 in cash prizes and over $300 in gift certificates. Prints will be displayed unframed behind glass cut to print paper size (unless otherwise specified by the artist). Highpoint will retain 20% of exhibition sales from work designated for sale. Work does not need to be available for purchase to be eligible for exhibition. All unsold work will be returned after the exhibition in its original packaging. Work will be insured for the full duration of the show in the gallery space. Damages incurred in transit are the responsibility of the artist. All accepted work must be packaged in reusable containers. Highpoint will provide return shipping to artists located in the continental United States; artists outside the U.S. will be assessed shipping charges.
