About This Call
Highpoint Center for Printmaking announces Stand Out Prints, the fifth installment of an international juried print exhibition. The exhibition will fill Highpoint's 1,000+ square foot gallery space with select impressions of contemporary printmaking. Cash prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding work as determined by the juror.
This is an exhibition of unframed prints. Work will be displayed behind glass cut to paper size unless otherwise specified by the artist. The exhibition juror is William Villalongo, an artist and Associate Professor at The Cooper Union School of Art whose work is included in collections including the Studio Museum in Harlem, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and Princeton University Art Museum.
Application Requirements: Entry fee is $25 (non-refundable; students may use coupon code "student" for $5 off). Applicants may submit up to two images for consideration. Artists must be at least 18 years of age; international artists are encouraged to apply. Work must have been completed since 2018 and must contain at least one form of traditional printmaking (lithography, monotype, screenprint, intaglio, relief, collagraph, etc.). Mixed media works and works incorporating digital printing are acceptable. Three-dimensional work may be submitted. Work may not exceed 60" in any direction. Work does not need to be available for purchase to be eligible.
Exhibition Timeline: August 1 – deadline to apply; August 25 – artists notified; September 20 – accepted work due; September 30 – exhibition opens; October 29 – exhibition closes; Mid-November – artwork returned.
