St. Tammany Art Association 52nd National Juried Artists Exhibition

The St. Tammany Art Association will present its 52nd National Juried Artists Exhibition, an annual competition of contemporary art, from July 8 to August 19, 2017. The exhibition will be held in the Miriam Barranger Gallery of the St. Tammany Art Association's Art House in historic downtown Covington. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A minimum of $3,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including a $1,000 prize for Best of Show. Other cash and merit awards will be presented at the discretion of the juror, William A. "Bill" Fagaly, former Francoise Billion Richardson Curator of African Art at the New Orleans Museum of Art. An artists' reception will be held on Saturday, July 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with awards presented at 7 p.m. A People's Choice cash award will be presented to the artist whose work receives the most votes by gallery visitors. A closing event will be held Saturday, August 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.

Open to artists ages 18 and up across the United States, the exhibition accepts original visual art completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited at STAA. Up to three artworks may be submitted per artist. The entry fee is $35.00 for one, two, or three artworks. Accepted artwork is original visual art with no size restrictions; however, space limitations do not allow STAA to accommodate film, video, or large installations. Reproductions of original artwork are not admitted. Online entry and payment are accepted until 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on Friday, May 19, 2017. Results will be announced on or before May 29, 2017. Accepted pieces may be shipped to STAA to arrive between Wednesday, June 28 to Saturday, July 1, 2017. All accepted work must be shipped via FedEx in reusable crates with shipping pre-paid for return. Shipped works will be returned on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, and hand-delivered pieces may be picked up Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23, during regular gallery hours.
