St. Tammany Art Association 49th National Juried Artists Exhibition

The St. Tammany Art Association (STAA) will present its 49th National Juried Artists Exhibition, an annual competition of contemporary art, from July 12 to August 9, 2014. Up to $3,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including a $1,000 prize for Best of Show. Other cash and merit awards will be presented at the discretion of the juror.

Open to artists ages 18 and up across the United States, the exhibition accepts original visual art completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited at STAA. Up to three artworks may be submitted per artist. One image for each 2D work, or three images for each 3D work, is required. The entry fee is $35.00 for one to three entries. Space limitations do not allow film, video, large installations, or reproductions of original artwork. Online entry and payment will be accepted until 11:59 PM CST on Monday, May 19, 2014. Results will be announced Friday, May 30, 2014.

The exhibition runs July 12 - August 9, 2014, with regular gallery hours Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. An artists' reception will be held Saturday, July 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with awards presented at 7 p.m. A closing reception, Art Talk, and juror walk-through will be held Saturday, August 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Accepted pieces may be delivered or shipped during regular gallery hours July 1-3 and July 5 (closed July 4). All accepted work must be shipped in reusable crates with shipping pre-paid for return. Artists are encouraged to provide insurance on their work. Upon closing, art may be removed at 9 p.m. or during pick-up dates Tuesday, August 12 – Saturday, August 16 during regular gallery hours.
