About This Call
The St. James Court Art Show's 3rd Street Section is a juried fine arts and fine crafts show held the first full weekend of October in the Old Louisville Historic District. The 3rd Street Section features approximately 90 artists within a show of 600 total artists and awards over $3,250 in cash and prizes. The show attracts more than 250,000 visitors annually and is ranked the #1 Fine Art and Design Show in Sunshine Artist Magazine's "200 Best List" (2023, 2019, 2012, 2011). The event is held rain or shine with free admission. Artist amenities include parking behind booths on 3rd Street, artist breakfast and lunch all three days, booth sitters, and volunteer staff. Artists keep all sales proceeds.
All work must be original and of the artist's own crafting; no buy/resell, commercial, imported, kit-made, or mass-produced items are accepted. Prints and mechanical reproductions are allowed if clearly stated on the application and properly signed and numbered, but may not comprise more than half the display. Traditional printmaking techniques (serigraphy, etching, lithography, etc.) are not subject to this restriction. Artists must be present and have their booth open during all hours of the 3-day event. Work must be exhibited in the category for which it was accepted, and artists may not bring work not presented to the jury. Each artist must provide their own 10x10 white display tent, racks, and/or tables. Generators (silent, odorless) may be used for booths on 3rd Street only and must be located behind the booth space.
Application deadline is May 1, 2026. The nonrefundable application fee is $35, payable online. Booth fees are $575 for a single 10x10 space, with premium options available (corner space $25 additional, double space $1,150, extra wide spaces with varying fees). Booth fees for new artists must be received by June 15, 2026. All artists must obtain their own general liability insurance. The city-required Personal Conveyance Permit is included in the booth fee.
