About This Call
CANCELLED: This exhibition has been postponed due to COVID-19. The 2020 Spring Forward Exhibition and Sale was scheduled for April 16 to May 15, 2020, at Palm Springs Art Museum's The Galen and Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden in Palm Desert, California. For artists who submitted work, entry fees will be completely refunded through the Artists Council.
The Artists Council, an independent non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting art and artists of the greater Coachella Valley, invited submissions of new works for this juried exhibition. Prizes totaling $1,500 were to be awarded, with additional People's Choice Awards voted on by attendees. Membership in the Artists Council was required to submit. Entry fee was $50 for up to 2 entries.
Artwork had to be verifiably original, created within the past 3 years, and not previously exhibited at any Artists Council exhibition. Two- and three-dimensional work was accepted (no video). Maximum framed size was 48" wide by 60" high; three-dimensional artwork could not exceed 150 pounds or 72" high by 48" wide by 48" deep. All works on paper required glass or Plexiglass protection. Two-dimensional artwork had to be wired for hanging. Artwork had to be available for sale at prices between $500 and $8,000. The Artists Council retained 50% of sale proceeds. Artists were required to "sit in the gallery" at least once during the exhibition. Artwork had to be delivered in person; shipped work was not accepted. The juror was Robert S. Leathers, an artist and architect based in San Diego.
