About This Call

SFVACC invites submissions for an online exhibition titled Spring Forward, which explores the concept of moving forward—embracing growth, transformation, and the momentum that propels us into the future. While inspired by the energy of spring, this exhibition seeks artwork that interprets Spring Forward in diverse and creative ways, including themes of personal or societal growth and renewal, the passing of time and cycles of life, optimism and resilience, and abstract interpretations of momentum and change.

The exhibition is open to all artists and photographers worldwide. Submissions are limited to six original artworks per artist in the following media: drawing, mixed media, collage, printmaking, fiber art, photography, painting, digital art, and sculpture. No audio, video, or AI-generated work will be accepted. Artwork must be submitted as high-resolution JPEGs (1-5MB) either cropped to remove background or on a black background without a mat. Entry deadline is February 9, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. The first entry costs $40, with up to five additional entries at $5 each. Acceptance notifications will be sent by February 18, 2025. The exhibit opens March 14, 2025 and closes April 30, 2025, and will remain archived on the SFVACC website indefinitely.

Awards include Best of Show ($800), 1st Place ($400), 2nd Place ($300), and up to four Honorable Mentions. The juror is Genie Davis, a writer and curator. All juried artwork must remain online until the end of the exhibit. Sales are handled directly between artist and buyer with no commission to SFVACC. Artwork created under direct instructor supervision is not eligible, and previously exhibited SFVACC works cannot be resubmitted.
