Spring Ahead with Color: Large Format Abstract Exhibition

SPRING AHEAD WITH COLOR is a Color Field painting exhibition. Color Field is a style of abstract painting that emerged in New York City during the 1940s and 1950s, characterized by large fields of flat, solid color spread across or stained into the canvas creating areas of unbroken surface and a flat picture plane. The movement emphasizes overall consistency of form and process over gesture, brush strokes, and action. Color Field examples include formats of stripes, targets, simple geometric patterns, and references to landscape imagery and nature.

Artwork must be in large format (36 inches or larger). Accepted mediums include acrylic, oil, pastel, mixed media, collage, or creative fine art photography in the traditional Color Field style. All artwork must be prepared to hang with "D" rings and wire, with "D" rings positioned 4 inches from the top on each side. Artwork not properly prepared to hang will be eliminated.

Artwork must be delivered and picked up by designated dates and must be available for sale. Artists must be willing to pay the required commission on sales. Entry fee is $15.00. Submit 1-3 images of your work. The exhibition is open to regional artists in Florida. Event date: April 8, 2022.
