Sports Fan Art Call

Art Scene West invites all fan art that celebrates sports culture and the cherished fans who make it possible. All mediums of artwork are welcomed, and pieces that embody the spirit, excitement, dedication, and thrill of the game will be considered for exhibition in the seaside gallery in downtown San Diego, California. Submissions may include iconic on-field moments, nostalgic memories, stadiums, logos, mascots, players, coaches, and culture. This is an international open call.

Artwork specifications: All 2D hanging artwork should not exceed 30" on its longest side. Sculptures must not be larger than 16" high x 8" wide x 8" deep, and must not exceed 35 lbs in weight. Artworks will be judged only by their quality and originality, without bias to the sport, team, athlete, city, or era. The in-gallery exhibition runs from April 1st - May 27th, 2025.

Fees and timeline: The submission fee is $25. Selected artists pay a $75 participation fee by March 24th, 2025. Selected artists will be notified between March 20th and March 23rd. Artwork should be delivered by April 4th, with an opening reception on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. Artists are responsible for shipping and return-shipping fees. Art Scene West retains 40% of sales commission for gallery expenses and remits 60% to the artist. Images of selected artwork will be published on the gallery's website and social media. Unsold artwork can be retrieved or will be sent back beginning May 28th.
