Spokane Watercolor Society 2022 Exhibition

The Spokane Watercolor Society invites artists living in the United States who are 18 years or older to submit original watercolor paintings for exhibition. The exhibition runs from April 8 to May 1, 2022.

Eligibility and Requirements: Entries must be original works painted only by the artist, executed after January 1, 2019, and not previously exhibited in any juried SWS exhibition. All paintings must use water-soluble media (watercolor, gouache, acrylic, casein, or ink) on natural fiber paper or illustration board. The visible painting area must be between 140-660 square inches, with a minimum of 7 inches on the shortest side and maximum of 30 inches on the longest side. Paintings must be professionally matted and framed with polycarbonate or acrylic glazing (not glass), a visible mat of 2.5 to 6 inches, and weigh no more than 40 pounds. Collage or other media may comprise up to 20% of the painting. Unsuitable material and nude representations will not be hung.

Submission and Fees: Artists may submit a maximum of two paintings. Entry fees are $45 for the first painting and $20 for the second (members receive discounted rates of $30 and $20 respectively with coupon codes). Submissions are made online at www.callforentry.org with JPEG images at least 1,200 pixels on the longest side and under 5 MB. Acceptance is determined by submitted images, with notification by email. Awards include First Place ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), Juror's Choice ($150), and two Honorable Mentions ($100 each). Accepted paintings must remain on display through the end of the show. Pickup is Monday, May 2, 2022 between 10 a.m. and noon. Artists are responsible for insurance.
