Spokane Watercolor Society 2021 National Juried Exhibition

The Spokane Watercolor Society invites artists living in the U.S. who are 18 years or older to submit original watercolor works for this national juried exhibition. The exhibition runs April 2-25, 2021.

Eligibility and Requirements: Entries must be original works executed within the last two years and not previously exhibited in a juried SWS exhibition. Works must be water media (watercolor, gouache, acrylic, casein, or ink) directly painted on natural fiber paper or paperboard. Collage or other media may be used if the aqueous medium constitutes 80% or more of the work. Nude representations are not allowed. Visible image size must have a minimum of 7" on the shortest side and maximum of 30" on the longest side, with total area between 140-660 square inches. All paintings must be matted and framed under Polycarbonate or Acrylic with white or nearly white matting. Maximum frame size is 34"x44" and maximum weight is 40 lbs. Hanging wire is required on all pieces.

Submission and Fees: Up to two paintings per artist may be submitted online at www.callforentry.org by February 1, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fees are $45 for the first entry and $30 for the second entry (reduced rates available for SWS members). Images must be submitted as JPEG or JPG files, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, cropped to the painting area only. Accepted artists will be notified by email on February 15, 2021. Paintings must be delivered or shipped between March 20-27, 2021, with artist pickup on April 26, 2021. Awards include first place $500, second place $300, and third place $200, with additional gift certificates and merchandise awards possible. Artists receive 75% of sales price with 25% going to SWS. All paintings must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and cannot be removed until the show closes.
