About This Call
The Spokane Watercolor Society invites artists to submit work for their 2020 Open Juried Show, held April 3–27, 2020 at Barrister Winery, 1213 West Railroad Avenue, Spokane, WA 99201. The exhibition opens April 3 with an awards ceremony from 5:00–6:00 p.m. The show is open daily from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. Juror of selection is Dale Laitinen, NWS, a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West.
Eligibility: Artists living in the U.S. who are 18 years or older may participate. Entries must be original works of water media (watercolor, gouache, acrylic or ink) directly painted on natural fiber paper or paperboard, executed within the last two years and not previously exhibited in a juried Spokane Watercolor Society exhibition. Collage or other media may be used if the aqueous medium constitutes 80% or more of the work. Painting images must be at least 10" in any dimension, not exceeding 30" in any dimension (minimum 10"x14", maximum 22"x30"). All pieces must be matted and under Plexiglas with white or nearly white mats. Nude representations are not allowed. All paintings must be for sale and priced with intent to sell; artists receive 75% of sales price with 25% going to Spokane Watercolor Society.
Entry deadline: January 27, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fees are $45 for the first entry and $30 for the second entry for nonmembers; members pay $30 for the first painting and $20 for the second. Up to two paintings per artist may be submitted. Digital entries are submitted online at www.callforentry.org with JPEG or JPG images (1200 pixels or greater on longest side, under 5 MB).
