About This Call
The Public Facilities District Board (PFD) and Spokane Arts Fund seek to commission an artist or artist team to create a work to enhance the site improvements at the Spokane Convention Center for the Exhibit Hall Completion Project. This call is for artists, architects, or teams of artists from the Inland Northwest Region only. Applicants must be from Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.
Artist/artist teams both emerging and established are encouraged to apply. Artists working as a team should submit their application as a package. The application process is not intended to include designs for the project itself. Rather, the selection committee will base its choice on the experience and qualification of the artist/artist team, the quality of the representative past work, and the artist/artist team's expression of their philosophy, vision, and spirit. The selection process will be subjective in nature.
Applicants should submit 10 digital images, a resume, and artist statement through www.callforentry.org. After review of the original application, a limited number of artists/artist teams may be invited to an oral presentation and interview. Selection criteria include: Artistic Merit, Relationship to the Site and Project Intent, the artist or artist team's demonstrated ability to carry out the project, Ease and cost of maintenance, and Safety of the art work.
