Spiritual Art Grant Opportunity

This grant opportunity is open to all artists over the age of 18 residing in North Carolina or South Carolina. All media are welcome, including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, prints, drawings, mixed media, and sculpture.

One artist will be awarded a $10,000 grant to be presented on opening night of the exhibit. The grant seeks to support artists who clearly have talent and potential for growth but lack the means to evolve either because of lack of external support or finances. Work of other artists will also be shown at the exhibit with additional awards to be made.

Applicants must submit 5 digital images of their work along with a nonrefundable $35 entry fee (paid by credit card through CaFE or by check payable to MOFSA). An artist statement addressing your spiritual journey, the role of art and spirituality in your life, and your thoughts for new work you would like to create must be submitted as a doc, docx, or pdf file (2MB limit). A biography and website information (if available) are also required.

Work must be suitably framed or cleanly finished and ready for hanging. Drawings, prints, watercolors, and pastels on paper must be under Plexiglas. All work must be hand-delivered to Awaken Gallery by August 31, 2018, and must remain for the duration of the exhibition. All work must be for sale, with a 40% commission deducted from sales. Unsold work must be picked up on September 30, 2018 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
