About This Call
Spirit of Wyoming is a competition for original artwork to be featured on Jackson Hole Still Works Vodka bottle labels. The theme is "Wyoming." Artists must reside in Wyoming or Teton County, Idaho, and be over 21 years old at the time of submission. The entry fee is $30.
Submissions must include a digital portfolio of 7 to 9 representative works dated 2016 or later. One piece must be designated as the "Entry Piece"—a 2D original artwork in square format with a minimum dimension of 20" X 20". Accepted mediums include watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, acrylic, collage, and multimedia. Original artwork only; no prints or editions. The entry piece must clearly indicate the theme "Wyoming" and cannot contain trademark symbols, words, flags, military or governmental insignia. Applicants are encouraged to provide background information about themselves and the entry piece.
Eight finalists will be selected by a jury and their works displayed at a Virtual Voting Party on January 8-9, 2021, with both in-person and online viewing and voting options. The grand prize winner receives $2,000, a six-bottle case of vodka featuring their art, and recognition on the Jackson Hole Still Works website. The winning artwork will be reproduced on the vodka label for one year, with the artist's name, title, and website included. The original artwork will be acquired by Jackson Hole Still Works and silent auctioned to benefit the Wyoming Arts Council. Top 8 finalists receive 2 bottles of vodka and website recognition. Finalists' original framed artwork must be delivered by January 4, 2021. Unsold artwork must be picked up by January 25, 2021, or will be shipped at the artist's expense.
