Spirit of Wyoming: 5th Annual

The theme for this competition is "Wyoming." Artists must reside in Wyoming or Teton County, Idaho, and must be over 21 years old at the time of submission. The $30 application fee includes a digital portfolio of 7 to 9 representative works dated 2016 or later. The artwork submitted for jury consideration must be an original, 2D work in square format with a minimum dimension of 20" X 20". Accepted mediums include watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, acrylic, collage, and multimedia. Original artwork only; no prints or editions are permitted. The subject must visually adhere to the theme "Wyoming," and entries cannot contain trademark symbols, words, flags, military or governmental insignia.

Eight finalists will be selected by a jury and their works displayed at the Voting Party on June 28, 2019, at Jackson Hole Still Works. Finalists are expected to attend. The grand prize winner will be selected by attendees of the Voting Party. Top 8 finalists receive complimentary tickets to the June 28th Voting Party and a bottle of vodka. The grand prize winner receives $2,000 and a six-bottle case of vodka featuring their artwork. The winning artwork will be reproduced on Jackson Hole Still Works Vodka labels for one year, with the artist's name, title, and website included. Jackson Hole Still Works will acquire the piece and donate it to the Art Association for a raffle drawing on August 15, 2019, at the Roadhouse. Runner-up works may be offered for sale at a 70/30 split, with 30% benefiting the Art Association.

Finalists must deliver framed, original artwork by June 26 at 5:00 p.m. to the Art Association. Artwork must be ready to hang with secure hanging hardware and no metal frames. The winning artwork will be reduced to fit a 3.5" X 3.5" label with minimal cropping possible. Unsold artwork must be picked up by July 1 at 5:00 p.m. or will be shipped at the artist's expense.
