About This Call
The Phipps Center for the Arts, in partnership with the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, presents the Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival, a juried art fair featuring 90 plus regional artists with fine art and traditional crafts for sale. The event takes place at Lakefront Park in Hudson, Wisconsin on September 23-24, 2017 (Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm). This annual event draws over 12,000 visitors to Hudson's historic downtown and scenic Lakefront Park on the St. Croix River.
The fair focuses on original fine art and traditional crafts only. Absolutely no manufactured, commercial, or imported products will be accepted. Misrepresentation of manufactured items may result in refusal of entry or removal from the fair with no refund of fees. Artists may only exhibit work in the category in which they are accepted. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($150), second place ($100), and third place ($50). The Best of Show winner also receives free admittance into the following year's show.
Application deadline is March 1, 2017, with applications received after this date considered until the fair is full. Entry fee is $5.00. Upon acceptance, a booth fee of $150.00 is required. Applicants must submit five digital photographs, including one of booth display and all items to be sold. A Wisconsin tax ID number (15 digits beginning with #456) is required. Outdoor exhibit spaces measure approximately 10' x 10' on grass. Exhibitors are responsible for their own tent, display tables, and other needs. Electricity is not available. Setup times are Friday, September 22 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 23 from 6:00-9:45 a.m. Security is provided around the clock from Friday 7:00 p.m. through Sunday 4:00 p.m. All displays must remain until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, and exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up their exhibit space. In case of cancellation prior to September 1, 2017, a refund will be issued less a $40.00 cancellation fee. After September 1, 2017, the fee is not refundable.
