About This Call

Valkarie Gallery invites artists to exhibit creative depictions, visions, or interpretations of their power animal, familiar, or kindred fauna. A spirit animal, sometimes called a totem, is believed in many indigenous traditions to be an animal that serves as a spiritual guide accompanying and guarding individuals through their lives, offering insight and wisdom.

Submissions will be juried by Valkarie Resident artists Lisa Lee Adams and Lisa Luree. The entry deadline is September 21st, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified by September 29th, 2025. The exhibition runs October 9 - November 2nd, 2025, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 11th, 2025 from 5-8:30pm and a closing reception and artwork pickup on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 from 3:30-5:30pm.

Entry fee is $30 to submit up to 3 original pieces. Submissions must be made through callforentry.org with image files in JPEG format, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and 5 MB maximum file size. Artwork must be original in concept, not copied from another artist's work, with no AI art accepted. Both 2D and 3D work are accepted and encouraged. Maximum artwork size is 36" x 36". The call is open to all who live or work in Colorado. Accepted artwork must be dropped off at Valkarie Gallery, 445 S Saulsbury St, Lakewood, CO 80226 on Saturday, October 4th or Sunday, October 5th, 12-5pm.
