Spectrum National Juried Printmaking Show

Spectrum is a national juried printmaking and book arts exhibition seeking hand-pulled prints and book arts that explore traditional and/or innovative approaches to color in printmaking. The exhibition will be held at the Cade Art Gallery, John A. Cade Center for Fine Arts, Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway, Arnold, MD 21012, from June 9 - July 21, 2017. A public reception will be held June 15, 6-8 pm.

Artists may submit up to three digital image files. An entry fee of $22 is required. Submissions must be received by April 29, 2017. Artists may include a 1-2 paragraph statement describing how each piece fits with the theme of color in prints. The juror is Justin Strom, Associate Professor in Printmaking and Digital Imaging and Graduate Director of the Arts Department at the University of Maryland, College Park.

All accepted work must be ready to hang or display. Two-dimensional work must have a braided picture wire on the back. Fragile media should be under Plexiglas. Installation art must be prepared by the artist or have instructions that are easy to follow. The gallery has a flat screen video and access to some types of video equipment, including a projector. All works are insured against physical damage or loss from receipt through designated pickup time. If art is shipped to the gallery, the artist is responsible for shipping costs both to and from the gallery. Notifications will be emailed May 11, 2017. Delivery dates for hand-delivered work are May 30 - June 3, 2017, 8am-3pm. Shipped work may arrive at the gallery any time from acceptance until June 3. Artwork may be picked up July 25-29.
