SPECTACULAR SPOOKS

Impasto Art Gallery presents SPECTACULAR SPOOKS, a group exhibition seeking works that examine anything that goes bump in the night. Artists are invited to submit work that is spooky, mystical, or unearthly. This is an opportunity for artists to exhibit and sell their work in Impasto Art Gallery, located in Prospect New Town. The gallery will sponsor an opening reception on Friday, October 6th from 6pm-9pm featuring wine and appetizers. The exhibition runs from October 6th through November 1st, 2017. The gallery will also showcase the exhibition online with modern presentation and convenient online shopping, and will feature and promote artists' work through social media channels daily.

Open to all artists 18 years and up. All work must be original in concept and composition and executed solely by the submitting artist. No reproductions are accepted. Acceptable mediums include photography, fabric, mixed media, new media, paintings (acrylic, oil, watercolor), drawings, ink, graphite, pastels, colored pencil, encaustic, and fiber arts. Jewelry, video, and sculpture are excluded. Artwork cannot exceed 36 inches in any dimension including the frame. All work must be wired and ready to hang on the wall. Two-dimensional works must have secure hanging wire on the back (no eyehooks, saw tooth hangers, or Uni-Frames). Canvas art does not need to be framed but must be wired for hanging. Art other than canvas must be framed and ready to hang. Work must be completely dry upon receipt. Potentially smearable work on paper must be glazed for protection. Triptychs and diptychs must be able to be hung with one hanger. Three-dimensional works must be able to be displayed without staff intervention. The gallery reserves the right to reject work deemed too fragile, difficult to handle or display, or containing subject matter inappropriate for a family audience.

Entry fee is $35.00 for the first entry, $2.00 for each additional image. Artists must submit 1-10 images. Entry deadline is September 15th, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified on September 18th. Artwork must be received by the gallery (hand delivered or shipped by FedEx or UPS) no later than Monday, October 2nd. Selected artists must sign an artist agreement and send artwork by FedEx or UPS (no USPS); scheduled in-person delivery is also available. Impasto Art Gallery takes a 25% commission on all pieces sold during retail and online exhibition. At the conclusion of the exhibit, unsold art must either be picked up during days/times selected by the gallery or shipped back to the artist by the gallery (artist provides pre-paid return label). All artists who sell artwork must complete a W-9 form prior to payment.
