Sparkle and Glow

Sparkle and Glow is an online juried exhibition open to all 2D media (excluding photography and digital art). The theme showcases light and the way it sparkles and/or glows, with examples including the sparkle of light reflecting on water or glass, the glow of street lights or the moon on a dark evening. All subject matter, including abstract approaches, are acceptable.

Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, and egg tempera on any 2D surface. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and may not be copied from copyrighted material or created under the direct guidance of another artist or by following a tutorial. Work may have been done in a class or workshop using only reference material belonging to the sole artist. There is no size limit for this show. Entry fee is $15 per image for non-members and $10 per image for members. Submit 1-3 images. Exhibition dates are November 16th - December 13th, with an online opening reception on Thursday, November 21st at 6pm on Zoom. Notification of acceptance is November 15th. Over $300 in cash prizes will be awarded. Juror: Laurie Goldstein-Warren. If work is sold, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society will receive 35% of the sale.
