About This Call
Spark Gallery is Denver's original cooperative art gallery, established in 1979 as an alternative to traditional commercial galleries. Located in the heart of Denver's largest arts district on Santa Fe Drive, Spark Gallery continues to foster a spirit of artistic risk-taking and exploration.
Spark Gallery presents Blue/Green Art and Environment, an open call for artwork dealing with the environment. The exhibition seeks artwork in all media and disciplines exploring the colors blue or green and/or work that explores the environment. Cecily Cullen, Director and Curator of The Center for the Visual Arts at Metropolitan State University of Denver, will serve as juror. Cash awards include the Roland Bernier Award of $300.00 and Sarah McConnell Awards of $125.00 and $100.00.
Entry fee is $35.00 per application for up to 3 pieces. Submissions must include 1-3 images. Work must be hand-delivered to the gallery on June 8th or 9th between 1-4 pm. The exhibition runs June 13-30, 2019. Opening reception is June 14th from 6-9 pm. Juror selections will be announced June 1st. Artwork pickup is June 30th from 4-6 pm. Payments for sold work will be mailed July 8th.
