Spaces Between: SDA's 2025 Juried Exhibition

Spaces Between: SDA's 2025 Juried Exhibition invites members of the Surface Design Association (SDA) and Florida CraftArt to submit work exploring in-between spaces and what it means to navigate through and reside within them. The exhibition will be on view from March 28–May 17, 2025 at Florida CraftArt, 501 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Juried by Akiko Kotani, the exhibition highlights work made with a fibers sensibility, including traditional and cross-disciplinary materials, techniques, and practices, as well as experimental processes and material innovation. Selected works will demonstrate unique, well-developed artistic vision and innovation.

Entry deadline is January 10, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fees are $45 for SDA/Florida CraftArt members and $25 for student members. Up to two artworks may be submitted per artist (2D, 3D, video, or audio). Entries must be original work completed after January 1, 2022 and must be available for sale. Work executed under classroom or educational guidance is not eligible. Artists must submit up to four images total (one overall and at least one detail of each artwork), a brief artist statement (1,000 characters maximum), and a description of each artwork. Notification of acceptance will be sent February 10, 2025. Selected artwork must arrive at the venue between March 20-25, 2025.

Awards include First Place ($400), Second Place ($200), Third Place ($100), and SDA Award of Excellence (one-year SDA membership). Florida CraftArt provides full insurance coverage while artwork is in the gallery's care and in transit. Artists receive 55% of sales proceeds after sales tax and transaction fees; Florida CraftArt retains 45%. For questions, contact [email protected] or [email protected].
