Souvenirs of Summer

National call open to all artists 18 and older. All media considered. This is the third version of Fabulon's annual show about the significant and symbolic transitions of summer's end. Each year in late August, artists regroup after vacation to show recent work and commemorate the new gallery season. This year the show seeks deep themes of transition and the passage of time—new beginnings associated with starting school, or bittersweet evidence that children are growing up and venturing out. What conjures up a sense of nostalgia? What have you lost? What do you hold most dear? For what do you long?

Submit up to five images reflecting the theme. Up to three works will be selected for the exhibit and sale. Artists must submit a statement connecting their work to the theme. All work must be for sale; the gallery receives 40% of sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of artwork, which may be brought to the gallery in person Monday through Friday 10am-5pm or shipped with prepaid labels both ways. Artwork must be in hang-ready condition with wire method only (no sawtooth hangers). Each piece must have a label firmly affixed to the back stating name, title, and contact information. Artwork must have been created within the last two years, not derived from copyrighted images, and not created under the direction of an instructor.

Entry deadline: 7/10/17 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee: $35. Artists will be notified by 7/17/17. Work must arrive by 8/5/17. Exhibition runs 8/14/17 through 10/6/17. Artists' reception on 8/26/17, 5:00-8:00pm.
