Southwestern Watercolor Society 57th Annual Member Exhibition

The Southwestern Watercolor Society's 57th Annual Member Exhibition is open to all SWS members in good standing. The exhibition will be held at Blue House Too Gallery, 988 Village Green Drive, Allen, TX 75013, from September 2 – October 3, 2020. Membership dues for 2020-21 must be paid by June 30, 2020. One nonrefundable entry fee of $45.00 is due for the submission of up to three paintings.

All work must be original water media on paper or Yupo, painted after January 1, 2018. Accepted water media include watercolors, acrylics, inks, gouache, casein, egg tempera, watercolor pencils and watercolor crayons. The minimum accepted painted image size is 100 square inches (without mat or frame). Maximum outside framed size is 46 inches in either direction. Media must be under clear, unscratched Plexiglas. Mats must be single and white or off-white. Framed works must be wired and ready to hang with backing. No diptychs, triptychs, nudes, digital media, photography, prints, or reproductions are accepted. Works previously hung in a SWS show or Western Federation show are not permitted.

Juror of Selection is Steve Rogers, AWS, NWS. Over $8,000 in cash and merchandise will be awarded, including: Naomi Brotherton Best of Show ($1,500), Edgar A. Whitney Award for transparent watercolor only ($1,000), 1st Place ($750), 2nd Place ($500), and 3rd Place ($300). Acceptance notification will be sent via email on July 19, 2020. The Awards Reception is scheduled for September 27, 2020. Hand-delivered art must be received by August 31, 2020, 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Shipped art must be received by August 28, 2020, with a $65.00 handling fee through Navis Pack & Ship. The Blue House Too Gallery will receive a 40% commission on all paintings sold.
