Southwestern Watercolor Society 55th Annual Member Exhibition

Southwestern Watercolor Society's 55th Annual Member Exhibition is open to all SWS members in good standing. 2018-2019 dues must be paid by May 31, 2018, either through PayPal, the SWS website, or by check to the SWS Treasurer.

Entry fees are nonrefundable: $35.00 for one painting, $40.00 for two paintings, or $45.00 for three paintings. Only one entry per artist will be accepted into the show, though each artist may enter up to three paintings. All work must be original water media on paper or Yupo painted after January 1, 2015. Accepted water media include watercolors, acrylics, inks, gouache, casein, egg tempera, watercolor pencils, and watercolor crayons. Work must be original source material with no copies of other artists' work or photographs by others. Computer-generated work, class or workshop paintings, diptychs, triptychs, and nudes are not accepted. Minimum painted image size without mat or frame is 100 square inches. Works must have a white or off-white mat, simple frames with maximum outside framed size of 46" in either direction, and be under clear unscratched Plexiglas. Paintings must be wired and ready to hang with backing, using D-rings instead of screw eyes.

The exhibition runs August 29 - September 29, 2018 at the Eisemann Center. Entry deadline is June 30, 2018 at midnight on CaFE. Acceptance notification is August 1, 2018. Shipped art deadline is August 24, 2018 at Craters & Freighters; hand-delivered art deadline is August 26, 2018 at the Eisemann Center (1:00-3:30 PM). The juror is Robert Burridge, an international award-winning artist and author. Awards total more than $5,000.00 in cash and merchandise, including Best of Show ($1,500.00), Edgar A. Whitney Award ($1,000.00 for transparent watercolor only), 1st Place ($750.00), 2nd Place ($500.00), and 3rd Place ($300.00). The Eisemann Center receives a 15% commission on paintings sold.
