Southern Showcase

The Pastel Society of Mississippi presents the 2026 PSM Juried Exhibition, an online juried show open to all artists. This is an online exhibition only with no work requiring shipment.

Eligible work must be in soft pastel (no oil pastels), with the artwork's final surface being 80% traditional soft pastel. Mixed media must be predominantly soft pastel. Work must be original and completed since January 2023. Submitted work cannot have won any award in a national or international open juried pastel show by the submission deadline. Work must be original and from your reference, not copied from other artists or published materials. Instructor-provided references are not eligible, including instructor-provided photos, still-life setups, or model setups. Work done in a classroom, workshop, or online group scenario is not eligible. All artwork must be initially drawn and not created on top of any photographic image. No portion of the artwork or source material may be created or referenced using Artificial Intelligence.

Entry fees are $35 for the first 2 images for PSM Members ($45 for Non-Members), with $10 for each additional image. Only 3 images per artist are allowed. Entry fees are non-refundable. Up to one painting per artist may be accepted. Awards include First Place ($350 and ribbon), Second Place ($250 and ribbon), Third Place ($100), and 2 Honorable Mentions ($50 each). The juror is Marcia Holmes, PSA-Master Pastelist and Master Circle - IAPS/EP. Artists will receive notification by email and through their ShowSubmit account by March 16, 2026. Work can be submitted for sale or NFS, with the Pastel Society of Mississippi accepting a 10% donation on artwork sold. Shipping and payment are the artist's responsibility. Artists retain copyright to their images; permission to use works for PSM marketing and publicity purposes is deemed given upon acceptance.
